November 26, 2011 in Verona, NJ: 1st Annual Turkey Trot 5K

A special thank you from Barbara Batesko, President, PRF’s New Jersey Chapter.

WOW! What a turnout for the 1st Annual Turkey Trot. More than 800 people cameout to support PRF and Team Zoey at Verona Park for our 1st race, raising over $37,000 to help find the cure for Progeria, the event has far exceeded our expectations.  For all of you who have been regular Team Zoey/PRF supporters, as well as the first timers we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

The Turkey Trot’s success would not be possible if it was not for the incredible people who keep showing up to help support us and raise money for the Progeria Research Foundation. We would like to give a special thank you to all the Sponsors who helped make the Turkey Trot such a successful event. Such as Bishop Photography, Creative Beginnings Preschool, Ah’Pizz, Tierney’s Tavern, Anderson’s Flowers, and the Bruno Family. I would like to especially thank Al Siuta who donated the use of his timing system for the event.

Lastly, I would like to once again give a huge “Thank You” to Kat Quinn who came up with the idea of the race and recruited her two friends Kate Brindisi and Jess Bishop to help.  Kat and her Team of Angels have done an amazing job the last two months. I have no doubt in my mind that with people like Kat and her friends WE WILL FIND THE CURE FOR PROGERIA.

Please don’t forget HOPE STARTS HERE!

“Thanks to all of you we are already dreaming about next year’s Turkey Trot Gobble Gobble!”
